Alifeira




Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
 
Alifeira is a municipality in southcentral Elis. The seat of the municipality is in the village of Kallithea. It is north of the Pyrgos-Megalopoli Road, between Krestena and Andritsaina. It is located south of Tropaia and Lampeia, south-west of Dimitsana, north-west of Andritsaina and Megalopoli, north of Figaleia and east of GR-9/E55 Country Greece, Periphery West Greece, and Prefecture Elis. The Population in 2001 was 3,829 sources and Elevation was 385 meters.
 
The village has a small school, a church, a small post office, a train station and a square. The area are surrounded by mountains and forests full of pines and a few bushes. Much of the municipality are forested. Alifeira is bounded by the Alpheus river to the north. Until the late-2nd millennium, it was known as Zacha.
 
Elis is a prefecture in the Western Peloponnese and in Western portion of Greece. The prefecture is part of the periphery of West Greece. It covers the area of ancient Elis, and was formerly a department. Its capital is Pyrgos.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Alifeira is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
