Alvesta Municipality is a Municipality in the Kronoberg County and the Smalandia Province in southern Sweden. Its seat is in Alvesta. The city arms is from 1951 and depict three bees and a winged wheel. This symbolizes the railroad that is so vital for the industry, while the bees signify the hard-working spirit that the locals pride on themselves.
The municipality boasts nature areas and is suitable for fishing, canoeing or playing golf. Alvesta is an important railway junction, joining the Stockholm, Malmo Copenhagen rail way with the Gothenburg, Kalmar and Karlskrona railway. The urban areas of the municipality are besides the town Alvesta is Vislanda, Moheda, and are all located by the railroad.
