Borlange

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Borlange Municipality is a Swedish municipality in Dalarna County, in central Sweden, with an area of 586.4 square kilometers. The municipality has a population of 47,206 out of these, around 40,000 live in the town Borlange, which is the seat of the municipality.

Modern Borlange emerged in the former municipality of Stora Tuna during the last few decades of the 19th century when the railway and the industries reached the district. Originally Borlange had been the name of a tiny village and the first noted information regarding Borlange is from 1390. The village was insignificant up until 1870. In 1875 the railway between Falun and Ludvika, via Borlange were inaugurated and at the same time the construction of Domnarfvets Jernverk, the ironworks of neighboring village Domnarvet, had started.

Borlange has always been an industrial town surrounding the iron mill of Domnarvet  and the paper mill of Kvarnsveden. It is suitable for a city which structure is severely divided by rails and roads, with a modern city centre.

Borlange promotes itself as the number one shopping city in Dalarna. This is possible due to the Kupolen area, situated about one kilometer west of the city centre. The Kupolen area includes Kupolen shopping centre and the surrounding region. Though the district was first built to catch the interest from bypassers it has withdrawn the focus from the nearby downtown area and has overtaken the role as the pulsating heart of Borlange.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Borlange is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
