Dikaio
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. Dikaio is a municipality on the island of Kos, in the Dodecanese, Greece. It had a population of 6,094 residents in 2001. The seat of the municipality is in Zipari. Kos or Cos is a Greek island in the Dodecanese group of islands, in the Aegean Sea, which it separates from the Gulf of Cos. It measures 40 kilometers by 8 kilometers, and is only 4 kilometers from the coast of Bodrum in Turkey. The island has both fertile plains and infertile highlands. Kos has a population of 30,500 inhabitants. The Dodecanese, meaning twelve islands, are a group of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, off the southwest coast of Turkey. They have a rich history, and many of even the smallest inhabited islands boast dozens of Byzantine churches and medieval castles.
Greece officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of mainland Greece while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Greece is a member of the European Union since 1981 and a member of the European Economic and Monetary Union since 2001. Following the emergence of the Greek-speaking Byzantine Empire and 400 years of Ottoman control the Modern Greek state evolved after 1821-1830 as an independent Kingdom.
