Doirani

Doirani is a municipality in the Kilkis Prefecture, Greece. According to the 2001 census, population was 2,208.
Kilkis is a prefecture in Central Macedonia, Greece. Its capital is the city of Kilkis. The territory of the prefecture was ruled by the Ottoman Empire before being taken by Bulgaria in the First Balkan War of 1912. In the Second Balkan War of 1913, the Greek army captured the area. Until 1939, the area was part of the Thessaloniki prefecture and in 1939 split from the Thessaloniki prefecture and created its own prefecture. Greece is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan peninsula. It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east.
Like some of its sister municipalities and towns, Doirani is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting.
