Fillyra is a municipality in the Rhodope Prefecture, Greece. In year of 2001 the city had population of 8,014. Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Rhodope is one of the prefectures of Greece. It is within the East Macedonia and Thrace periphery and in central Thrace. The Papingio Mountains cover the northern part which is part of the Rhodope Mountains in which the prefecture is named after.
