Itanos

Itanos is a municipality in the Lasithi prefecture, Crete, Greece. It had population of 2,514. The seat of the municipality is in Palaiokastro. Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Greece lies at the juncture of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Lasithi is a prefecture on the island of Crete. It lies east of the prefecture of Heraklion. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea. Palekastro is a small village at the east end of the mediterranean island Crete.
