It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of mainland Greece while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Korissia, is situated in Greece. Korissia is a municipality in the Corfu prefecture in Greece. The population was 5,206 according to 2001 census. The seat of the municipality is in Argyrades. It consists of the islands of Corfu, Paxoi, Othonoi and several smaller islands, all in the Ionian Sea. The prefecture is part of the periphery Ionian Islands. The capital of the prefecture is Corfu Town.
