Kourites

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea.

Kourites is an exclusive tourist destination located in Europe. It is a municipality in the Rethymno prefecture of Crete in Greece. The seat of the municipality is in Fourfouras. The population in the city continues to grow from 2,703 in 2001, owing to the unique natural setting.

Rethymno, where Kourites is located is a prefecture in the island of Crete. Its capital is the city of Rethymno. The countryside of the prefecture is also based economically on agriculture and cattle breeding and herding. The Anogia village is reported to have the highest fertility rate.

Recent investments attracted by the climate, soil, and altitude combination have transformed the Kourites area, making it one of Rethymno most important regions. Even though Kourites meant the partial loss of its tourist profile due to urbanization, some features of its past times of splendor still remain, with hotels and hostelries that are swarmed by thousands of visitors each year.
