Koutsouras

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea.

Koutsouras is an exclusive tourist destination located in Europe. It is a village in the Lasithi prefecture of Crete in Greece. Located to the west of Sitia and also west of Ierapetra, the city has a total population of 818 as of 2001 estimation. Koutsouras has magnificent beaches and a famous golf course worth visiting. Koutsouras is also the headquarters of the municipality of Makrys Gialos and the biggest village in the region.

The primary industries in Koutsouras are focused on agriculture and eco-tourism. Other important industrial sectors which have helped fuel the economic engines of the region include cattle breeding, manufacturing industries, chemical industries, small scale industries and many more.

Like some of its sister cities and towns, Koutsouras is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important touristic attractions in Europe.
