Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
 
Lasiona is a municipality in the northern part of the Elis Prefecture, Greece. Its seat of administration is the village Panopoulo. It is accessed by a road connecting Patras and Tripoli, the GR-33 and the Amaliada to Simpoulo Road about 4 kilometers east and the road to Pyrgos west. It is located about 50 kilometers south of Patras, about 70 kilometers from the Rio-Antirio Bridge, about 35 kilometers west of Lampeia, about 100 kilometers west of Tripoli, about 45 kilometers north of Olympia and about 45 kilometers northeast of Pyrgos. It had a population of 2,562 inhabitants in 2001. Elis is a prefecture in the Western Peloponnese and in Western portion of Greece. The prefecture is part of the periphery of West Greece. It covers the area of ancient Elis, and was formerly a department. Its capital is Pyrgos.
