Petritsi is a municipality in the Serres Prefecture in Greece. It had a population of 5,877 as per the census of the year 2001. The seat of municipality is in Neo Petritsi. Serres prefecture is a prefecture located in east northeastern Greek Macedonia. Greece officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in south eastern part of Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Greece lies at the juncture of Europe, Asia, and Africa. Greece has a particularly long and eventful history and a cultural heritage considerably influential in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East.

As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Europe, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over.
