Sundbyberg, colloquial Sumpan, is a municipality in Stockholm County, in east central Sweden. The total area is of 8.8 square kilometers, it is the smallest municipality in Sweden by size. The town is a part of the Stockholm urban area.The western parts border to Stockholm City and the eastern to Solna. The total population is of 33,816 and density is 3,878 per square kilometers inhabitants. Sundbyberg was for a long time only an area of agriculture. In 1863 almost the entire area was bought by Anders Petter Lofstrom, who began building houses there.
