Valenca is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 117.1 square kilometers and a total population of 14,284 inhabitants. The municipality is composed of 16 parishes and is located in the district of Viana do Castelo. The present mayor is Jose Luis Serra Rodrigues, elected by the Socialist Party. The total area is 117.1 square kilometers. The District of Viana do Castelo is located in the northwest of Portugal, bounded by Spain at the north, and Braga at the south. The district capital is the city of Viana do Castelo.
