Agios Minas

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Agios Minas  is a municipality in the island and prefecture of Chios, Greece. It had a population of 2,686 residents in 2001. The seat of the municipality is in Thymiana. Chios is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea 5 miles off the Turkish coasts. It had a population of about 52,290 inhabitants, as of 2001 living within an area of 904 square kilometers. Greece officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of mainland Greece while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Both parts of the eastern Mediterranean basin feature a vast number of islands. Greece is a developed country, member of the European Union since 1981 and a member of the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union since 2001. The shores of Greece's Aegean Sea saw the emergence of the first advanced civilizations in Europe whose impact is inseparable from today's western institutions. Following the emergence of the Greek-speaking Byzantine Empire and 400 years of Ottoman control the Modern Greek state evolved after 1821-1830 as an independent Kingdom.
