Aigeira

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Aigeira or Aegira is a community located about 500 meters southwest of the Gulf of Corinth in the northeastern part of the region of Achaea. The municipality is the easternmost in the prefecture. In 2001, the population of the city was 4,512 and an area of 103.65 square kilometers. The area was founded in the 3rd millennium before Christ. The city was known as Hyperesia during Homeric times. The city was wealthy and was one of the twelve most important cities in the Achaean League. It was also a member of the Achaean league.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Aigeira is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
