Aigeiros
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
Aigeiros is a city in the Rhodope region, Greece. In 2001, the population of the city was 4,418. Rhodope is one of the prefectures of Greece. It is within the East Macedonia and Thrace periphery and in central Thrace. The prefecture is bounded with Xanthi to the west, the Evros region to the east and Bulgaria with the Kurdzhali Province to the north. The capital of the region is the city of Komotini. The second largest city is Sapes. The greatest part of the only formally recognized religious minority in Greece, the Muslim minority of Greece, is settled in this area, where they form a slight majority of the population.
Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of mainland Greece while the Ionian Sea lies to the west. Both parts of the eastern Mediterranean basin feature a vast number of islands.
