Amani is a municipality in the island and prefecture of Chios, Greece. Its population in 2001 was 2,668 and its elevation is 84 meters above sea level. The seat of the municipality is in Volissos. Chios is a Greek island in the Aegean Sea 5 miles off the Turkish coasts. Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan peninsula. Volissos  is a small town in the northwest of Chios, Aegean Islands, Greece. Volissos dates back to the ancient times and was rarely known as Bolissos. Volissos is the seat of the municipality of Amani. Volissos is linked with a road linking southeast to Chios and serves a port to the island of Psara.
