Anaktorio

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Anaktorio is a municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece in Europe. Aetolia-Acarnania, is one of the prefectures of Greece. It is located in the western part of Greece. The prefecture is a combination of the regions Aetolia and Acarnania. Its capital for historical reasons is Mesolongi and its biggest city and economical center is Agrinion. The area is now connected with the Peloponnese peninsula with Rio-Antirio Bridge. The surrounding prefectures are Arta in Epirus, a narrow length bordering Karditsa of Thessaly, Eurytania to the northeast and Phocis to the east. It is the largest prefecture in area in Greece.

Greece was growing economically, at the same time becoming politically more liberal. In 1877, Prime Minister Charilaos Trikoupis curbed the power of the monarchy to interfere in the Assembly. This period was punctuated by the undertaking one of the largest construction initiatives in Europe. The creation of the Corinth Canal and in 1896 the Olympic Games revived in Athens, judged a success. As a result of the Balkan Wars of 1912-13, Crete, Chios, Samos, most of Epirus and southern Macedonia, including the saloniki, were incorporated into Greece.

Anaktorio, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
