Efkarpia

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Efkarpia is one of the popular tourist attractions in Europe that is blessed with unique and marvelous surroundings. It is a community in the Thessaloniki prefecture of Greece. The Thessaloniki prefecture comprises of the Thessaloniki, Lagana and the northern portion of the Chalcidicean peninsula.

Presently, Efkarpia experiences a boom with day tourists, owing to the clear air and mountain views. Because of the high quality of life locally, the population is growing faster than is normal in Europe. The 2001 census revealed that the total population of Efkarpia was 6,598 inhabitants owing to the industrial development in and around the city.

Like some of its sister cities and towns, Efkarpia is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important touristic attractions in Europe.
