Eleftherio-Kordelio

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea.

Eleftherio-Kordelio is an exclusive tourist destination located in Europe. It is a municipal suburb on the western edge of the Thessaloniki metropolitan area in Greece. Founded in 1924 by Greek refugees from the town of Kordelio on the westcoast of Asia Minor, Eleftherio-Kordelio covers a total land area of 375 square kilometers with around 21.630 inhabitants as of 2001 census. It is also the stronghold of the nationalist LAOS Party that reached 10.25 percent of the municipal votes in the 2004 European Elections.

Like some of its sister cities and towns, Eleftherio-Kordelio is blessed with beautiful surroundings and a unique natural setting. The picturesque scenery, the majesty of the mountains, the slow pace of life, and the welcoming nature of its people all combine to make this region one of the most important touristic attractions in Europe.
