Chortiatis is a city in the Thessaloniki region, Greece. In 2001, the population of the city was 12,866. The seat of the municipality is in Asvestochori. Thessaloniki is a prefecture in Greece, containing Thessaloniki, Lagana and the northern portion of the Chalcidicean peninsula. The region is the second in Greece in population and the largest in Macedonia as well as northern Greece. The region stretches from the Thermian Gulf to the Strymon Gulf.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Chortiatis is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
