Ermioni
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. Ermioni is one of the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destinations that is located in Europe. Its ancient forms Hermioni and Hermione is a small town and a popular tourist resort in the Peloponnese, Greece. It is on a very small out-cropping of the land facing the island of Hydra. One can reach Ermioni within two hours from Athens by Hydrofoil. Much of the areas are rocky and forested and there are some forests. The mountains with a few valleys surround Ermioni. The harbor of Ermioni lies to the south.
Ermioni is also the same name of the province but its capital lies to the southwest in Kranidi. The ancient country of Ermionis used to lie in this area. It is linked by a road linking Kranidi and Galatas along with Poros. It is located Southeast of Argos and Nafplio, about East Southeast of Lygouri, Southwest of Troizina, about 10 kilometers East of Kranidi and 17 kilometers Northeast of Porto Cheli. The island of Dokos lies directly to the southeast. The total population of the town was 4,554 in 2001.
Presently, Ermioni experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Europe.
