Giannouli is a municipality in the Larissa Prefecture, Greece. It had population of 10,022 in 2001. Larissa is a prefecture of Greece, in the periphery of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. The prefecture was created in the 1880s after the war when Thessaly became a part of Greece. The prefecture until after the war in 1947 included Magnesia.
 
Greece officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east.
