Ludvika Municipality is a Swedish municipality in Dalarna County, in central Sweden. Seat in the town Ludvika with 14,400 inhabitants. Ludvika is situated by a small lake called Vasman, in the south-east part of the municipality. A small part of Ludvika urban area extends into Smedjebacken Municipality. The population of the municipality was 27,782, density 17 per square kilometers, and area is 1,498 square kilometers.
 
Many sportteams have their origins in Ludvika Municipality. Soccer is one of them, both the teams Ostansbo is and Ludvika FK come from Ludvika and play in divisions 4 and 3. Both of them also have junior teams, for younger people. And there is also one ice-hockey team, LIF, Ludvika Ishockey Forening. Other teams include ping-pong-teams as well as other sports.
