Mark municipality is located in Vastra Gotaland County, in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the largest town Kinna. It has the total population of 14,000, area of 933 square kilometers and density of 36 square kilometers.
 
The municipality was created with the municipal reform in the early 1970s and took its name from an old name of the hundred. The coat of arms was created and granted with the municipality in the 1970s. The circles in coat of arms come the 16th century insignia of the Mark hundred. The grain signifies the farming industry and the thing at the right is a weaving tool; because the municipality had and still has a strong textile industry.
