Mealhada is a municipality in Portugal with a total area of 110.7 square kilometers and a total population of 21,282 inhabitants and 17,043 electors as per 2006. The total population density is of 194 square kilometers. The municipality is composed of 8 parishes and is located in the District of Aveiro.The present Mayor is Carlos Alberto Costa Cabral, elected by the Socialist Party. The municipal holiday is Ascension Day.
