Lechaina




Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
 
Lechaina is a town in the Prefecture of Ilia, Greece that is 39 kilometers, north of the nearby city of Pyrgos and regions of Messenia and Arcadia. It is also located far west of Athens, Greece and 60 kilometers southwest of Patras. As of 2003, its population was around 3,300 inhabitants. Half of its stores and markets line Lechaina's two main streets. It had a population of 6,334 inhabitants in 2001. Its beaches north of Lechaina are Lechaina Beach, and Panorama Beach, which has a lot of summer homes and a restaurant, also known to some tourists, and one near the lagoon of Kotychi. Lechaina has a railroad station in the east. Two railway tracks run past the station. Lechaina has one high school, and a school near the road that connects the beach and Lechaina. Its principal rivers are Andravida Creek, and Melissos.
 
Elis is a prefecture in the Western Peloponnese and in Western portion of Greece. The prefecture is part of the periphery of West Greece. It covers the area of ancient Elis, and was formerly a department. Its capital is Pyrgos. Greece officially the Hellenic Republic is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Greece is a member of the European and European Economic and Monetary Unions. The shores of Greece's Aegean Sea saw the emergence of the first advanced civilizations in Europe whose impact is inseparable from today's western institutions.
