Lidkoping Municipality is a Swedish municipality in Vastra Gotaland County, in western Sweden. It is neatly situated on the southern shore of Lake Vänern. Its seat is located in the town Lidkoping with 25,000 inhabitants. Area is 703 square kilometers and population is 37,241 in 2005, and density is 53 per square kilometers.
 
The municipality of Lidkoping is together with its western neighbor Gotene located on the Lacko-Kinnekulla peninsula. In association with several large local companies, they have a colloquial tourism company known as Gotene-Lidkoping Vanern Turist AB. There are several Vänern islands that belong to the municipality. One of them is Lacko, where the Lacko Castle is a notable sight.
