Polygyros




Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
 
Polygyros is a town in Central Macedonia, Greece, and the capital of the Prefecture of Chalcidice. Polygyros is south of GR-16 Thessaloniki Arnaia. Polygyros is located south east of Thessaloniki, north east of Nea Moudania, north west of Sithonia and south of Arnaia. The town is built in the shape of an amphitheatre on a plateau on the south west side of the mountain Holomontas. Polygyros is famous for its carnival celebrations, which attracts visitors from around Greece. A nearby location called Panagia Virgin Mary is the setting of a famous religious celebration on August 15th. According to the 2001 census, population was 10,721, area is 470.9 square kilometers, and population density is 23 per square kilometers. Polygyros has schools, lyceums, a gymnasium, banks, a post office, and squares plateies.
