Rotterdam

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Rotterdam is in terms of population, the second largest municipality in the Netherlands after Amsterdam, the country's capital and the largest city in the province of South Holland. The city has the largest port in Europe and was until 2004 the world's busiest port. It is situated on the banks of the river New Meuse, one of the streams in the delta formed by the Rhine and Meuse rivers. In 2006, the population of the city was 588,718.

The city has its own orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and movie theatres.

In Netherlands, Rotterdam has the highest percentage of non-western foreigners. Nearly half the population is not native to the Netherlands. The city is home to one of the largest Cape Verdean communities in the world, as well as the largest Dutch Antillean community.

Rotterdam is the kind of town you daydream about. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
