Petroupoli

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is in the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the worlds second smallest continent in terms of area and third largest continent in population after Asia and Africa.

Petroupoli  is a suburb in the northwestern part of Athens Metropolitan Area, in Greece. The two mountains picks of Mount Aigaleo lies to the north and west of the suburb. It is also located at ESE of Eleusis, south of the Attiki Odos, west of Kifissou Avenue and Athens, North West of Poseidonos Avenue and north of Piraeus. The main streets connect the town with Ilion and Peristeri. It had a population of 48,327 in the year 2001. It has an elevation of 140 meters above the sea level.

The area of Petroupoli were mainly made up of farmlands. Pasture farming and groves were common known. Urban development is being replaced much of the farmlands between the 1950s and the 1990s, and continued until the late 1990s but rarely today. One of the abandoned quarries located nearly 1 kilometers northwest was turned into a park, and a few became sporting areas. The Petra Festival takes place every summer. The mountain range is along its municipal boundary to the northwest, and the northern part of the mountaintop is north of the city hall. The streets in the central part of Petroupoli run southwest to northeast and southeast to northwest. The southern and the eastern residential streets are mixed. The junior football team is named Aris Petroupoli.

As it is often regarded as among the most beautiful parts of Europe, it is one of the most visited places amongst the most die hard travelers the world over. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Petroupoli enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
