Psychiko

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Psychiko is a suburb of Athens, Greece. The name means literally an act of charity. Psychiko is located to the south of the Olympic stadium. Psychiko is divided in two municipalities, Psychiko and Neo Psychiko. According to the 2001 census, population was 10,901, and elevation is 190 meters.

Psychiko is a strictly residential suburb of Athens, with commercial businesses allowed only within two small designated zones, the Nea Agora and the Palia Agora. Current regulations restrict buildings to be fully detached, with a maximum of 3 floors. Psychiko was formerly home to many aristocrats and people of royalty. It remains to be one of the wealthiest suburbs of Athens, with very high land value. Many embassies especially those of Middle Eastern countries are located in Psychiko and Neo Psychiko and some are in neighbouring Filothei.

It is widely considered one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Athens, and was the home to Queen Frederika of Greece until the military coup d'etat of 1967. Several Greek private schools are located in Psychiko: Athens College, Moraitis School, Arsakeio, as well as the most historic public school, Varvakeio. Public municipal facilities include a very active cultural center, a 6-court tennis club, an indoor basketball and volleyball stadium with 3 ping-pong tables, an outdoor basketball and volleyball court and a rollerskating rink.

Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Psychiko enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
