Santa Cruz, Madeira

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Santa Cruz is a parish in the eastern part of Madeira. Much of the community is mountainous, while farmlands cover the remainder of the land including a couple of cherry fields. Santa Cruz is linked with Madeira's only superhighway. It is the third largest major community in population after Funchal and Camara de Lobos. The population of the community is 16,842 and an area of 81.52 square kilometers. Santa Cruz has few schools, few lyceums, gymnasium, banks, a post office, a small port, beaches and squares or plazas.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Santa Cruz is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
