Skopelos

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Skopelos is an island, a province which is better known as the Northern Sporades and a municipality in the central part of the Sporades and the northeastern part of the island. The island is shaped from southeast to northwest, the length is from northwest to southeast and the width is from southwest to northeast. The nearest islands are Skiathos to the west and Alonissos to the east. It is located east of mainland Greece and Magnesia and northeast of Euboea. Skopelos has one main road which links the three main villages on the western part of the island. Skopelos is the greenest island in the Mediterranean Sea, because the island of Skopelos is defined by lush green forest and the blue of the sea the International Organization of Biopolitics, on July 5th, 1997, officially proclaimed it Green and Blue Island. Similarly the town of Skopelos, by presidential decree, was honored as a Traditional Settlement of outstanding beauty, the Greek equivalent of a site of Outstanding Architectural Inheritance.
