Taby

Taby is a municipality north of Stockholm, Sweden, with a population of 60,594 in 2005. Taby can be characterized as suburb of Stockholm. The total area is of 61 square kilometers and density is 997 per square kilometers. The history of Taby goes back to the Viking Age. Remnants of the Vikings can be found in more than 37 rune stones.The cross on Taby's coat of arms is found on the Risbylestenen, a rune stone, in the northern part of the municipality. It is said that this rune stone shows the first signs of Christianity reaching this part of Europe.
