Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
 
Spata is a suburb in the eastern part of Athens, Greece. The suburban city is situated almost in the heart of the Mesogean plain. The view of Hymettus is to the west, the southern mountains to the east and the smaller mountains lying east. Eleftherios Venizelos International airport covers the eastern portion of Spata and was sometimes known as Spata Airport. Spata is passed by a road linking west to Paiania and east to Artemida and the interchange for Attiki Odos is located west. It is located S of Pallini, southwest of Rafina, west of Artemida, about 11 kilometers north of Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and about 22 kilometers ESE of Athens. The total population is of 10,203, area is 52.47 square kilometers. The total population density is of 194 square kilometers.

The area included the ancient Athenian demes of Erchia, birthplace of the historian and general Xenophon and Kytheros. A Mycenean cemetery has been excavated at the edge of town, the exhibits being hosted in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
