Tingsryd is a Swedish municipality in southern Sweden, located in southeastern Kronoberg County, where the town Tingsryd is seat with a population of 3,000. The population of Tingsryd municipality was 12,892 in the year 2005 with an area of 1,049 square kilometers. Its population density was 12 per square kilometers inhabitants.
 
Tingsryd is located in an area of traditional Mid Sweden forestry, with some agriculture areas, and the geography is also taken up by many small lakes. Much of the population of the municipality still live in rural areas, the rest live in almost equally populated small towns, without any densely populated central city in the municipality. 

Tingsryd is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
