Tongeren is a municipality located in the province of Limburg, Flemish region, Belgium. Tongeren is the oldest town in Belgium. It is known as Atuatuca Tungrorum to the Romans, it was the administrative centre of the district Tungri under their rule. The total area is of 87.56 square kilometers and population was 29,687 in 2006 and population density is 339 square kilometers.

Tongeren can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
