Alcazar of Seville: Breathtaking yet Peaceful!

When you travel to Spain, it is a “must do” to visit the beautiful Alcazar of Seville. It was built in the 1360s over Moorish ruins for King Peter I of Castile, also known as Pedro the Cruel, using Moorish workers that gave to the palace a particularly Islamic design. It is one of the best residual examples of mudéjar architecture. The main sections of the Alcazar are the “Patio de las Doncellas”, the “Baños de Doña María de Padilla” and the Casa de Contratación”. Other sections include the “Patio de las Muñecas”, the Patio de la Monteria”, the Puerta Del León”, the “Dormitorio de los Reyes Moros” and the Salones de Carlos V”.

In addition, the Alcazar is recognized as a World Heritage site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Every section of the Alcazar will left you astonished due to its beauty and structural design. You will also learn a little bit about the general history of Spain and, specifically, of this place. For example, you will see in one of the sections of the palace where Ferdinand and Isabella welcomed Columbus after his return from America. Therefore, do not miss this peaceful and breathtaking place with amazing gardens. Visit Seville and take a look to this masterpiece designed using Islamic influences!
