Aneby Municipality is a municipality in Jonkoping County in southern Sweden, where the town Aneby with a population of 4,000 is the seat. It is the northernmost municipality in the district Smaland and is mainly a forest area with some agriculture, traversed by small rivers. Most of the forest is part of the Swedish of coniferous forest, mostly consisting of spruces and blueberries. Its area is 520 square kilometers.
Aneby is the smallest municipality in the county. In 1994, the population in the municipality was at an all time high of 7,300 persons, which is attributed to refugees from former Yugoslavia. The population has since decreased, to the regret of the officials who are promoting to get it populated to the 8,000 inhabitants its service is designated for.
The Kingdom of Sweden is a Nordic country in Scandinavia. It is bordered by Norway in the west, Finland in the northeast, the Skagerrak Strait and the Kattegat Strait in the southwest, and the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia in the east. It is connected to Denmark in the southwest by the Oresund Bridge.
