Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Ans is a small Belgian municipality located in the Walloon province of Liege. On January 1st, 2006 Ans had a total population of 27,322. The total area is 23.35 square kilometers which gives a population density of 1,170 inhabitants per square kilometers. Ans is also the finish location of the famous road bicycle race Liege-Bastogne-Liege, the oldest of the classic cycle races.
 
The Kingdom of Belgium is a country in northwest Europe bordered by the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and France and is one of the founding and core members of the European Union. Wallonia or the Walloon Region is the predominantly French-speaking region that constitutes one of the three federal regions of Belgium, with its capital at Namur. Its official languages are French and German.
