Habo
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
Habo Municipality is a municipality in Jonkoping County, in southern Sweden where the town of Habo is seat. The population was 9,758, area is 329 square kilometers, and density is 30 per square kilometers.
Habo is noted for a wooden church with a design from 1723. It is shaped like a cathedral, even though it is made of wood, while the interior is covered with decorative paintings illustratating themes from Martin Luther's catechism. The interiors were featured in 2002 Christmas collection from the Post Office of Romantic Church Buildings.
The municipality is one of the newly created ones created with the municipal reform of the 1970s, before that it was just a small community with a few towns. In 1907 the then existing parish of Habo had for instance only 2,742 inhabitants.
Things to do in the municipality include activities related to the lake Vättern, such as fishing, bathing and hiking. It offers plenty of nature and outdoor activities. Just outiside the seat is a forest of beech woods planted by count Per Brahe the younger in the 17th century and lovely for recreational walks.
Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Habo enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
