Filiatra
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
Filiatra is a municipality located in western Messenia. Its nearby communities are Armenioi or Exochori to the north and Gargalianoi to the northwest. In 2001, the population of the city was 9,334 and an area of 114.9 square kilometers. Filiatra has a school, a lyceum, a gymnasium, a church, a square plateia, a fountain, and banks. The area is covered with hills filled with olive groves and some forests. The Ionian Sea is west of Filiatra.
