Kyparissia

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.

Kyparissia is one of Europe most popular destinations, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments that the city has embraced. Kyparissia, rarely known as Cyparissia is a town of around 4,000 in western Messenia. The population has been steady. Its area is 101.0 square kilometers with a population of 8,648. It has a population density of 86 per square kilometers.

The town center is situated on a road connected almost centrally between Pyrgos and Methone. Its distance is around 65 kilometers north of Pyrgos, 65 kilometers west of Kalamata and approximately 6 kilometers south of the Neda River. The elevation is sea level in the west, approximately 20 meters downtown, and 50 meters or higher in the east. There are approximately a 1,500 dwellings in the municipality. It is also the seat of the Province of Tryfilia.

Historically and economically the most important part of Messenia is the great plain, consisting of two distinct portions, watered by the river Pamisus and its affluents. This is the most fertile tract in Greece, and at the present day produces oranges, citrons, almonds, figs, grapes and olives in great abundance and of excellent quality.

Presently, Kyparissia experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of Europe. This fact has consolidated along with other adjacent municipalities, as a great alternative for residence.
