Marinha Grande

Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. On the east, Europe is divided from Asia by the water divide of the Ural Mountains and by the Caspian Sea. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
Marinha Grande is a municipality in the district of Leiria, Portugal. It has a population of 38,030 and a total area of 187.1 km² with density of 203 square kilometers. The town is composed of three parishes Vieira de Leiria, Marinha Grande and Moita. It is located right in the middle of the Leiria pine forest, a national forest and near exquisite beaches such as Praia da Vieira, Nazare and Sao Pedro de Moel.
The present Mayor is Joao Barros Duarte, elected by the Unitarian Democratic Coalition. The municipal holiday is Ascension Day. Marinha Grande is Portugal's biggest glass manufacturer, and it is also the European capital for the moulding industry, with 250 companies operating there. The city is served by train and highway. It is 1 hour and 15 min away from Lisbon and only 10 min away from Leiria.
Marinha Grande is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in Europe worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place leaves a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justifies the proud cultural tradition of Europe.
