Pineia is a municipality in the Elis Prefecture, Greece. Its seat of administration is in the village Simopoulo. Simopoulo is located about 5 kilometers west of GR-33 and south of the Pineios River valley. Distance from Patras is about 45 kilometers south, about 48 kilometers west of Lampeia and west of Tripoli, about 25 kilometers north east of Pyrgos and approximately 20 kilometers east north east of Amaliada. According to the 2001 census, population was 5,660.
Elis is a prefecture in the Western Peloponnese and in Western portion of Greece. The prefecture is part of the periphery of West Greece. Greece is a country in south-eastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan peninsula. It is bordered by Bulgaria, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Albania to the north and by Turkey to the east.

It can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
