Poseidonia is a municipality on the island of Syros, in the Cyclades, Greece. According to the 2001 census, population was 3,006. Syros, Siros or Syra is a Greek island in the Cyclades, in the Aegean Sea. It's located 78 nautical miles south-east of Athens. The island features towns including Ermoupoli and Ano Syros. Ermoupoli is the capital of the Island and the Cyclades. It has always been a significant port town and during the past century even more significant than Pireus.
The Cyclades are a Greek island group in the Aegean Sea, south-east of the mainland of Greece and an administrative prefecture of Greece. They are one of the island groups which constitute the Aegean archipelago. The name refers to the islands around  the sacred island of Delos.

Poseidonia is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
