Roermond

Roermond is a municipality, a district and a city in the southeastern Netherlands. Roermond is a historically significant city situated on the banks of the river Maas. In 2006, the population of the city was 45,390 and an area of 46.87 square kilometers. The town centre with its medieval street pattern has an attractive shopping area. Roermond is encircled by a green belt, which offers many opportunities for hiking and cycling. For good reason, the region around Roermond has been designated as an area of scenic interest.
