Tranas
Europe is one of the five inhabited traditional continents of the Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. Europe is bounded to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the waterways adjoining the Mediterranean to and including the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains. Europe is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area and third-largest continent after Asia and Africa in population.
Tranas Municipality is a municipality in Jonkoping County, Smaland, in southern Sweden, where the city of Tranas is the seat. Tranas contains three parishes, Saby, Linderas and Adelov.
Tranas FF is the city's football team. Tranas Bois have played in bandy allsvenskan. Tranas AIF is the city's pride when it comes to ice hockey. The team currently resides Division one. Tranas Baseboll is the city's pride when it comes to baseball. Tranas Golfklubb is the city's Golf Club with a well known course.
Tranas is quite well-known for its fur industry, even though there is almost no such activity today. Recently there have been lots of problem with drug abuse and street violence, giving Tranas the nickname Tombstone. The politicians are mainly to be blamed for this, shutting down the local police station making this once so peaceful little town, a haven for criminals and lowlife trash.
Music plays an important part of everyday life in Tranas. Bands such as Rovsvett, El Scorschos, The Trick and Feel Flows all try their best to give the citizens of Tranas a reason to live despite all doom and gloom. Tranas as a town still holds itself in high esteem since winning the annual national price as music municipal of the year, despite the politicians trying their best to shut down important meeting places like Sobelhuset and be very anti-rockband in their stance. Nowadays the best known band from Tranas is The Bombdolls, a punk rock band that regularly tours in Sweden and Germany.
Tranas is the kind of town you daydream about. It is a city with endless recreational opportunities, rich history, and modern day luxuries.
